I joined Brown | Gould | Kiely, LLP in June 2007 and regularly litigate disputes concerning commercial litigation, contracts, shareholder agreements, partnerships, and estates and trusts.
Growing up in Pittsburgh, I first came to the Washington, D.C. area for my undergraduate education at American University. I went on to graduate from the New York Law School in New York City, and after receiving a public interest fellowship, worked as a public defender for the City of New York.
Before entering private practice, I worked at a non-profit organization known as University Legal Services, the Protection and Advocacy Program for the District of Columbia, where I served as Head Attorney for Individuals with Mental Illness. In this position, I helped bring much-needed attention to gaps in the guardianship and conservatorship system in the District of Columbia, and advocated for the development of community-based services for persons with mental illness.
Prior to joining Brown | Gould | Kiely, LLP, I served as “Of Counsel” to a boutique firm in Washington, D.C. and managed my own practice, The Law Office of Jesse D. Stein. In these capacities, I also litigated civil actions on behalf of my clients.
I currently reside in Rockville with my wife, two great kids, and our dog. You can find me most nights and weekends attending my kids’ sporting events, as we have two budding soccer stars in the family.
